Educational Programs
Colorado Gators Education Programs teach children and adults about
the biology, behavior, and ecological role of reptiles
in nature and at Colorado Gators. A variety of live
specimens such as turtles,
tortoises, gators, snakes, and lizards are
presented in a
hands-on learning
experience. You'll learn which reptiles make good pets
and which ones will eventurally get big enough to eat your other
pets. To schedule a program for your
school or civic
organization, call Sherri at 719-378-2612. You may also call
this number to schedule a field trip. A
discounted rate is
available to large groups with one week notice.
See prices below.

These school
children are introduced
to "Doug", an African Sulcata Tortoise that outgrew his previous owner,
like many of the animals at Colorado Gators. He's 50 pounds now,
but may reach 250 pounds. The animals are used to educate the
public through interactive school programs and field trips to Colorado
Gators.
Jay
Young presents "Dream" , an Albino Burmese Python from
India. Although extremely rare in the wild, they are commonly
bred in captivity for pets. He is very mild mannered, and has
been petted by thousands of people. Females of this species may
reach 25+ feet, and can be more agressive.
